Metodología: será una investigación con un enfoque cuantitativo, corte transversal, tipo aplicada, nivel correlacional y no experimental. La población será de 90 licenciadas en enfermería que laboran en el área de emergencia. La técnica para la recolección de información será la encuesta y la observación, se emplearán dos instrumentos, un cuestionario para medir el conocimiento, con una confiabilidad de 0,860 y una guía de cotejo para medir el manejo, con una confiabilidad de 0,83. La información adquirida será procesada por el programa SPSS versión 24 y Excel, para posteriormente ser presentados en tablas y gráficos. Luego se empleará el Coeficiente de Correlación de Spearman que calculará la relación entre las variables planteadas para finalmente realizar la verificación de las hipótesis de la investigación.Objective: To determine the relationship between knowledge about peripheral venous catheters and nursing management in a hospital emergency department.
