This was an applied research study with an analytical method, quantitative focus, and an in-vitro experimental design, where microorganisms were cultured on 40 Petri dishes containing agar. The results showed significant antibacterial effects of both 0.12% Chlorhexidine and ozonized sunflower oil, according to the Duraffourd Scale. Chlorhexidine 0.12% showed average inhibition zones of 17.58 mm at 24 hours, 17.56 mm at 48 hours, and 17.55 mm at 72 hours. On the other hand, ozonized sunflower oil showed inhibition zones of 36.5 mm at 24 hours, 36.49 mm at 48 hours, and 36.47 mm at 72 hours. It was concluded that ozonized sunflower oil had a better antibacterial effect than 0.12% Chlorhexidine against Porphyromonas gingivalis strains.Se propuso como objetivo determinar la efectividad antibacteriana de irrigantes a base de Clorhexidina al 0,12% y aceite ozonizado de girasol sobre cepas de Porphyromonas gingivalis. Fue una investigación aplicada, de método analítico, bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, diseño experimental in – vitro, donde se cultivó los microorganismos en 40 placas Petri de agar. Los resultados mostraron que existe efecto antibacteriano significativo tanto de la Clorhexidina 0,12% como del aceite ozonizado de girasol, según Escala de Duraffourd. En el caso de la Clorhexidina 0,12% tuvo promedios, a las 24 horas (17,58 mm), 48 horas (17,56 mm), y 72 horas (17,55 mm); mientras que el aceite ozonizado de girasol, a las 24 horas (36,5 mm), 48 horas (36,49 mm), y 72 horas (36,47 mm).
