Materials and Methods: The study is quantitative, with a descriptive-cross-sectional methodological design. The population consisted of 45 nurses from the hospitalization area of the hospital. The data collection technique was a survey, and the data collection instrument was the Nursing Stress Scale (NSS) by Gray-Toft and Anderson, consisting of 34 items and grouped into three dimensions. Results: Regarding the level of stress in nursing staff, the medium level of stress predominated with 68.9% (n=31), followed by the low level of stress with 24.4% (n=11) and the high level of stress with 6.7% (n=3). Regarding the dimensions, in the physical environment, the medium level of stress predominated with 62.2% (n=28); in the psychological environment, the medium level of stress also predominated with 62.2% (n=28); and in the social environment, the low level of stress predominated with 71.1% (n=32). The dimension with the highest stress value was the psychological environment with 17.8% (n=8). Conclusions: The predominant stress level in nursing staff was medium, followed by low and high levels. Regarding the dimensions, the most affected dimension was the psychological environment.Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de estrés en el personal de enfermería frente a la situación de emergencia sanitaria en un área de hospitalización de un Hospital de Lima - 2020.Material y método: El estudio es de enfoque cuantitativo, en cuanto al diseño metodológico es descriptivo- transversal.
