Methodology: the research is quantitative, basic, with a descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 70 nurses. The instruments used were the Test to measure work stress and the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Results: it was found that there is a high positive correlation (rho = .846) and significant (p = 0.000 < 0.05) between the variables work stress and Burnout Syndrome. Conclusions: the results allowed to reject the null hypothesis and accept the general hypothesis, concluding that there is a positive and significant relationship between work stress and Burnout Syndrome in nurses working in the Intensive Care Unit of the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins Hospital.Objetivo: determinar cuál es la relación entre el estrés laboral y el Síndrome de Burnout en las enfermeras que laboran en el Servicio de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Edgardo Rebagliati Martins. Metodología: la investigación es cuantitativa, básica, con diseño descriptivo, correlacional y de corte transversal. la muestra estuvo conformada por 70 enfermeras. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron el Test para medir el estrés laboral y el Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Resultados: se encontró que existe correlación positiva alta (rho=,846) y significativa (p=0,000<0,05) entre las variables estrés laboral y Síndrome de Burnout.
