The purpose of this research was to establish the use of *Equisetum arvense* (Horsetail) and its health benefits among residents of the San Sebastián Market in Cajamarca, Peru, in 2026. A sample of 234 people was selected from a population of 600. The formula for finite populations was used for the analysis. Probabilistic sampling was employed to reduce bias and facilitate statistical inference. The hypothetico-deductive method was used. This methodology was chosen after a thorough analysis of the specific case, which revealed a difficulty. The inductive method was developed as the approach. A survey was used as the method of data collection, employing a questionnaire to gather sociodemographic information and specific details about the use of the plant. The results revealed that 86.8% of respondents used the plant as a diuretic. Furthermore, it was highlighted that while it is used less frequently for blood circulation (36.8%), it was mentioned as having antibacterial (53%) and anti-inflammatory (59%) properties. On the other hand, 98.7% stated that they never use it for fever, pain relief, or as an antihypertensive. In conclusion, the stem is the most commonly used part. However, no significant relationship was found between symptom relief and the use of the stem, even though the root and the whole plant did show a positive correlation with greater health benefits.application/pdfspahttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Equisetum arvenseEquisetum arvenseSalud HumanaHuman HealthPlantas MedicinalesPlants, MedicinalUso de “Equisetum arvense” (Cola de Caballo) y beneficios en la salud de pobladores del Mercado San Sebastián, Cajamarca – 2026Use of *Equisetum arvense* (Horsetail) and health benefits for the population of the San Sebastián Market, Cajamarca – 2026http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_7a1fhttps://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#3.01.05ODS 3: Salud y bienestar.
