Metodología: Se basará en un enfoque cuantitativo utilizando mediante el método hipotético deductivo, con un diseño no experimental de corte transversal y nivel correlacional. La muestra incluirá 92 madres y sus recién nacidos que llegan al área de neonatología del Hospital Chimbote 2025. Se usará un muestreo no probabilistico por conveniencia y la recolección de datos se hará mediante cuestionarios. Para determinar los factores se usará de un cuestionario desarrollado por Arévalo que consta de un total de 20 ítems distribuido en 3 dimensiones, sociodemográficos, biológicos y culturales. También se usará el Cuestionario sobre el abandono de la lactancia materna exclusiva. Se realizará el tratamiento de datos y se empleará la prueba estadística Chi cuadrado (X2) para determinar la relación.The purpose of this research is to "Determine the factors associated with the abandonment of exclusive breastfeeding in the neonatology unit of the Chimbote Hospital in 2025." The sample will include 92 mothers and their newborns admitted to the neonatology unit of the Chimbote Hospital in 2025. Non-probability convenience sampling will be used, and data will be collected through questionnaires. To determine the factors, a questionnaire developed by Arévalo will be used, consisting of 20 items distributed across three dimensions: sociodemographic, biological, and cultural. The Questionnaire on the Abandonment of Exclusive Breastfeeding will also be used.
