Métodos: Se trabajará con una metodología aplicada, bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental de corte transversal, con el aporte de información de pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 del servicio de emergencia a través del uso de dos cuestionarios. Luego de su aplicación se podrá recolectar datos que serán codificados y registrados en un matriz de datos la cual recibirá un tratamiento estadístico mediante el programa SPSS 25.0, con una técnica descriptiva e inferencial, siendo esta última a través del Rho de Spearman, la cual es una prueba que permitirá corroborar la validez y veracidad de las hipótesis de estudio, con lo cual poder brindar las conclusiones a las que se llegue en la medición de las variables de estudio.The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about self-care and practice in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the emergency department. Methods: We will work with an applied methodology, under a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design, with the contribution of information from patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the emergency service through the use of two questionnaires.
