The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between burnout and emotional exhaustion in a sample of 149 specialized personnel from a police force institution in Lima, Peru. The sample was basic and had a non-experimental design, with a correlational and cross-sectional scope. Two instruments were administered: the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and the Emotional Exhaustion Scale (ECE). It was found that burnout showed a moderate and statistically significant direct correlation with emotional exhaustion (Rho=.624; p<.001). 26.2% reached a high level of burnout, with the exhaustion dimension obtaining the highest percentage at the high level (29.5%); in contrast, in the depersonalization dimension, the low level reached 77.2% at the low level. In addition, direct and highly significant relationships were found between emotional exhaustion and depersonalization with emotional fatigue (Rho=.776 and Rho=.785 respectively). On the contrary, a low inverse relationship (Rho = -.145) was found between low personal accomplishment and emotional exhaustion. In summary, the higher the level of burnout, the greater the emotional exhaustion.application/pdfspahttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Agotamiento PsicológicoBurnout, PsychologicalPoliciaPoliceSalud LaboralOccupational HealthBurnout y cansancio emocional en personal especializado de una institución de efectivos policiales, Lima, 2025Burnout and emotional exhaustion in specialized personnel of a police force institution, Lima, 2025Esgotamento e exaustão emocional em pessoal especializado de uma instituição policial, Lima, 2025http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_7a1fhttps://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#5.01.02https://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#3.03.10info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessODS 3: Salud y bienestar.
