El empleó de esta técnica brinda una amplia variedad de ventajas tanto al neonato, como a la madre/padre, ya que fortalece la conexión madre-hijo o padre-hijo, disminuyendo al mismo tiempo el nivel de ansiedad y estrés de todos los involucrados. Desde el punto de vista económico el uso de esta técnica resulta beneficioso para el sistema de salud, ya que reduce la utilización de incubadoras y disminuye la permanencia en el hospital de los prematuros. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre los conocimientos de las enfermeras y la aplicación del MMC en la UCIN. Metodología: El estudio es hipotético – deductivo, transversal, no experimental, con enfoque cuantitativo. La muestra será por 80 licenciadas de enfermería. La técnica a utilizar es la encuesta y los instrumentos que se emplearán son el cuestionario y la guía de observación, que serán realizados una vez que hayan firmado el consentimiento informado.Introduction: The research project, which is set out below, will be carried out in a public hospital, information will be obtained about the importance of the Kangaroo Mother Method (KMC), and the relevance of skin-to-skin contact for the neonate, especially in premature.
