El estudio empleó un método hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicada, diseño no experimental, de corte transversal y correlacional. Se contó con una muestra de 81 odontólogos docentes y se aplicó la técnica de la encuesta y el instrumento un cuestionario virtual para la recolección de la información. El primer grupo de preguntas fue para la variable de uso de tecnologías de la información y comunicación conformada por 14 ítems. El instrumento de la segunda variable de desempeño docente en la modalidad virtual estuvo conformado por 17 ítems, ambos validados por el juicio de expertos y un nivel de confiabilidad alto valor para la primera variable 0,833 y de 0,799 para la segunda variable. El resultado indica una significancia de 0.003 (p< 0.05) y un Rho=0.326. Se concluye que existe una relación directa y de intensidad baja entre el uso de las tecnologías de la información y comunicación y el desempeño docente en la modalidad virtual.This research aimed to determine the relationship between the use of information and communication technologies as a didactic strategy and teaching performance in the virtual modality. The methodology used was a hypothetical deductive method, quantitative approach, applied type, non- experimental design, cross- sectional and correlational. There was a sample of 81 teaching dentists to apply the instrument and the survey technique for the collection of information through the virtual questionnaire, the first group of questions was for the variable of use of information and communication technologies consisting of 14 items. The instrument of the second variable of teaching performance in the virtual modality consisted of 17 items, both validated by expert judgment and a high reliability level value for the first variable 0.833 and 0.799 for the second variable. The final result obtained in the general hypothesis test indicates a significance of 0.003 (p< 0.05) and a Rho=0.326. In the hypothesis test specifies 1; p = 0.000 (< 0.05) and a Rho = 0.580. In the hypothesis test specifies 2; p = 0.037 (< 0.05) and a Rho = -0.232.
