La metodología empleada es de método hipotético-deductiva, con un enfoque cuantitativo y aplicada. Su diseño no es experimental, sino correlacional y transversal. Se compone de 60 pacientes y se utilizó el cuestionario como técnica para recopilar datos; además, se aplicaron dos cuestionarios que son válidos y confiables como instrumentos para medir las variables. Los hallazgos mostraron que, en el apoyo familiar, el 56,7% (34) de los participantes tenía un nivel bajo y el 43,3% (26) tenía un nivel medio; no hubo participantes con un nivel alto. En cuanto a las estrategias de afrontamiento, el 13,3% (8) se encontraba en un nivel bajo y el 86,7% (52), en un nivel medio; nuevamente no hubo participantes con un nivel alto. Se concluye que “existe una relacion significativa entre el apoyo familiar y estrategias de afrontamiento”.The objective of this research is to “determine the relationship between family support and coping strategies in patients attending [a specific treatment center”. The methodology employed is hypothetical-deductive, with a quantitative and applied approach. The design is not experimental, but rather correlational and cross-sectional. The study included 60 patients, and a questionnaire was used as the data collection technique. Two valid and reliable questionnaires were also used to measure the variables. The findings showed that, regarding family support, 56.7% (34) of the participants had a low level and 43.3% (26) had a medium level; no participants had a high level.
