Método: El tipo de investigación será aplicada, de enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, y correlacional. La población corresponderá a 140 pacientes, y la muestra a 104, este último calculado mediante muestreo probabilístico. Dicha muestra será tomada en periodo comprendido de abril a agosto del 2022, aplicándose los instrumentos: Índice de Barthel, que fue creada por Barthel y Mahoney y cuenta con una confiabilidad de Alfa de Cronbach de 0,8, y la Escala de Riesgos de Caídas, que fuese creada por Downton, la que cuenta con una fiabilidad por Kuder-Richardson de 0,92. Estos instrumentos permitirán realizar el relevamiento de data respectivo, la que será procesada a través de pruebas no paramétricas a efecto de identificar la relación entre las variables en estudio, y así poder evidenciar, si existe relación estadísticamente significativa entre estas.Objective: Establish the relationship between functional capacity and the risk of falls in elderly patients in the geriatric service of the Guillermo Almenara Hospital.
