Materials and Methods: The research was hypothetical-deductive, with a correlational-cross-sectional design. A total of 105 participants were included. The data collection technique was a survey, and the measurement instruments used to assess the variables were the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire and the Barthel Index. Results: A significant directly proportional relationship was found between functional capacity and quality of life (p < 0.05). Regarding the specific hypotheses, a very strong directly proportional relationship was observed between functional capacity and the dimensions of eating, personal hygiene, bowel control, and urinary control. A strong directly proportional relationship was also found with the dimensions of transferring from the chair to the bed and using the toilet. A medium directly proportional relationship was found with the dimension of dressing and undressing. A weak directly proportional relationship was found with the dimensions of bathing and climbing/descending stairs (in all cases, the p-value was p < 0.05). Finally, no significant directly proportional relationship was found with the dimension of mobility. Conclusions: Regarding the general hypothesis, it was observed that there is a strong, significant, directly proportional relationship between the two main variables, functional capacity and quality of life.Objetivo: El objetivo fue determinar la relación entre capacidad funcional y calidad de vida en ancianos de la casa de reposo Los Robles de Magdalena, Lima-2021.
