This research aimed to determine the relationship between the characterization of use and home storage of psychotropic drugs in patients at the San Carlos Community Mental Health Center, Lima, 2026. The study followed a quantitative, basic, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive-correlational approach. The sample consisted of 237 adult patients selected through simple random probability sampling. A questionnaire validated by expert judgment was applied, with reliability assessed using Cronbach's Alpha. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and Spearman's Rho coefficient were used for data processing. Results showed a predominance of the 31–45 age group (35.44%) and female sex (64.98%). Anxiolytics (75.5%) and antidepressants (74.3%) were the most frequently consumed; 70.46% presented polypharmacy and 70.04% had been in treatment for more than one year. Statistical analysis revealed a statistically significant association between both variables (Spearman's Rho = 0.199; p-value = 0.002118). The type of psychotropic drug (Rho = 0.321; p = 0.0001), treatment duration (Rho = 0.320; p = 0.0001), and polypharmacy (Rho = 0.247; p = 0.0001217) showed statistically relevant links with home storage; sociodemographic factors presented a significant inverse correlation (Rho = -0.176; p = 0.006673); while pharmacological interactions did not reach statistical significance (Rho = 0.095; p = 0.1464). It is concluded that a significant relationship exists between both variables, a finding that provides evidence to strengthen interventions aimed at the safe management of psychotropic drugs in the home.application/pdfspahttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/PsicotrópicosPsychotropic DrugsAlmacenaje de MedicamentosDrug StoragePolifarmaciaPolypharmacyCaracterización del uso y almacenamiento domiciliario de psicofármacos en pacientes del Centro de Salud Mental San Carlos, Lima, 2026Characterization of the Home Use and Storage of Psychotropic Medications Among Patients at the San Carlos Mental Health Center, Lima, 2026http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_7a1fhttps://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#3.01.05ODS 3: Salud y bienestar.
