Metodología: Método hipotético-deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo de investigación aplicada, diseño no experimental, corte transversal y nivel correlacional. Población de 120 adultos mayores que asisten al centro objeto de estudio. Se aplicarán dos encuestas en forma de cuestionarios para medir ambas variables de estudio. Para las variables utilizará un instrumento diseñado y aplicado en Perú por Gómez en 2021 (depresión) y Reyes 2024 (calidad de vida). Para el análisis de la información se procederá a conformar una base de datos donde se clasificarán los datos según su naturaleza, luego se hará un análisis descriptivo a cada variable para luego realizar el análisis inferencial utilizando la estadística no paramétrica, asimismo para contrastar las hipótesis se utilizará el Rho de Spearman; durante toda la investigación se cumplirán con los principios universales de la ética.Objective: Determine the relationship between depression and the quality of life of the elderly in the mental health unit of the Herminio Valdizan Hospital, 2023.
