Para tal fin, se eligió un enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, nivel correlacional y tipo básico; se seleccionaron a 216 estudiantes adolescentes varones o mujeres de dos instituciones educativas: la I.E.P. Elías Aguirre y la I.E.E. N°7236 Max Uhle; los cuales fueron encuestados a través de la Escala de Acoso Escolar (AE DT) y la Escala de autoestima de Rosenberg. Los hallazgos revelaron que la autoestima no se correlacionó con el bullying (rho= 0.12; p=0.07>0.05), ni con las dimensiones: agresión verbal (rho=-0.12; p=0.07>0.05), agresión psicológica (rho=-0.12; p=0.07>0.05) y agresión física (rho=-0.12; p=0.07>0.05). Se concluyó que la presencia de un bullying elevado no implica cambios en la autoestima de los estudiantes.The general objective of this research was to determine whether bullying and self-esteem are related to high school students at an educational institution in the Villa el Salvador district. To this end, a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, correlational level, and basic type were chosen. A total of 216 male and female adolescent students were selected from two educational institutions: the Elías Aguirre Educational Institution (I.E.P.) and the Max Uhle Educational Institution (I.E.E.) No. 7236. They were surveyed using the School Bullying Scale (AE DT) and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. The findings revealed that self-esteem was not correlated with bullying (rho=-0.12; p=0.07>0.05), nor with the following dimensions: verbal aggression (rho= 0.12; p=0.07>0.05), psychological aggression (rho=-0.12; p=0.07>0.05), and physical aggression (rho=-0.12; p=0.07>0.05).
