Materiales y métodos: Estudio correlacional, no experimental, transversal. Fueron estudiadas las variables inteligencia emocional y desempeño laboral, en 91 licenciados de enfermería varones y mujeres que laboran en el hospital II Ramon Castilla. Fueron utilizados dos instrumentos (TMMS-24 y MACHILLANDA – 2005). Resultados: No existe relación estadística significativa entre las variables Inteligencia emocional y desempeño laboral. (p = 0.809), tampoco se encontró relación estadística significativa en la dimensión atención emocional. (p = 0,159), la dimensión claridad emocional (p = 0.802) y dimensión reparación emocional. (p = 0.606). Conclusión: A partir de los resultados obtenidos se concluye que no existe correlación lineal significativa entre las variables inteligencia emocional y desempeño laboral del personal de enfermería de un hospital de Lima, 2022.Objective: To determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance of nursing staff in a hospital in Lima, Peru, 2022. Materials and methods: Correlational, non-experimental, cross-sectional study. The variables emotional intelligence and work performance were studied in 91 male and female nursing graduates working in the hospital II Ramon Castilla. Two instruments were used (TMMS-24 and MACHILLANDA - 2005). Results: There is no significant statistical relationship between the variables emotional intelligence and work performance (p = 0.809), nor was a significant statistical relationship found in the emotional attention dimension (p = 0.159), the emotional clarity dimension (p = 0.802) and the emotional repair dimension (p = 0.606).
