Introduction: Obstructive sleep apnea is a disorder characterized by nocturnal breathing obstructions, alterations in ventilation during sleep caused by repetitive episodes of partial or total collapse of the upper airway, hindering adequate airflow and affecting the quality of nighttime rest. It represents a global public health problem affecting between 30% and 40% of adults and is associated with factors such as obesity, age, and cardiovascular comorbidities. The prevalence of this disorder varies significantly between regions, affecting a higher percentage of men than women. In patients with pulmonary fibrosis, characterized by progressive stiffness, a reduction in peripheral muscle strength is observed in relation to the systemic consequences of chronic respiratory disorders. Peripheral muscle strength is considered a fundamental clinical indicator of the functional status of the musculoskeletal system. Objective: To identify the relationship between the risk of obstructive sleep apnea and peripheral muscle strength in patients with pulmonary fibrosis at a respiratory center in Lima, 2026. Materials and methods: The research method will be non-experimental, cross-sectional, quantitative, and correlational. The technique will be observation, for which the evaluation will be carried out using a digital dynamometer and the Stop Bang questionnaire in patients with pulmonary fibrosis; subsequently, results will be sought for possible correlation between the variables.application/pdfspahttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/Apnea Obstructiva del SueñoSleep Apnea, ObstructiveFibrosis PulmonarPulmonary FibrosisTrastornos del Sueño-VigiliaSleep Wake DisordersRiesgo de apnea obstructiva del sueño y fuerza muscular periférica en pacientes con fibrosis pulmonar de un centro respiratorio.
