The study had a non-experimental, descriptive, quantitative, prospective, and cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 234 medical prescriptions. The observation technique and a checklist were used as the instrument, and the study was conducted with a 95% confidence level. The highest compliance with good prescribing practices was obtained for writing the National Identity Document (NID), which represented 69.2%, writing the indications (70.1%), and the presence of a signature (70.1%). The lowest compliance was for writing the age (43.6%), writing the International Nonproprietary Name (INN) (37.2%), and the lack of visible prescriber professional registration (38%). The level of compliance with good prescribing practices was identified as 65.7% for respiratory tract affections in prescriptions filled at a drugstore in the Ancón district in 2022.Una prescripción es la consecuencia de un desarrollo de inferencia lógica a través del cual el prescriptor emite en una receta médica de acuerdo a la afección respiratoria.El estudio fue de diseño no experimental, descriptivo, enfoque cuantitativo, prospectivo de corte transversal; La muestra fue 234 recetas médicas, se empleó la técnica de observación y como instrumento una lista de cotejo, se trabajó con 95 % de confianza.Se obtuvo el mayor cumplimiento de buenas prácticas de prescripción en escribir el DNI, que representa el 69,2 %, el 70,1 % en escribir las indicaciones y el 70,1 %en presencia de la firma, mientras que el menor cumplimiento es en escribir la edad que representa el 43,6%, en escribir la denominación común internacional que representa el 37,2 % y falta de presencia de visualización de la colegiatura del prescriptor en un 38 %.
