Methodological design: The study was descriptive, with an observational, cross-sectional, and prospective design. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire-type survey. Results: Of the antibiotics dispensed, 61.7% were provided in full, 99% belonged to the National Essential Medicines List (PNUME), 66% were prescribed using the International Nonproprietary Name (INN), 84% indicated the dosage, 91% indicated the frequency, and 76.2% specified the duration of treatment. Only 2% of the antibiotics were substituted for another. Conclusion: The most frequent problems to which patients are exposed when receiving a medical prescription were identified. It was estimated that 99% of the antibiotics dispensed with a medical prescription belonged to the National Essential Medicines List, which indicates compliance with the PNUME. It was determined that the percentage of antibiotics prescribed under their International Nonproprietary Name was 65.8%, reflecting a lack of adherence to Law 29459. It was also estimated that the proportion of antibiotics dispensed and sold in full was 61.7%.El estudio realizado sobre la prescripción, dispensación y expendio antibióticos en Farmacias y Boticas del km 40 Distrito de Lurín, Enero-Junio 2017, tuvo como objetivo: Determinar la prescripción, dispensación y expendio de antibióticos en farmacias y boticas del km 40, distrito de Lurín, Enero-Junio 2017. Diseño metodológico: El estudio fue de tipo descriptivo y de diseño observacional, transversal y prospectivo. El instrumento de recolección de datos fue una encuesta tipo cuestionario. Resultados: El (61,7%) de los antibióticos fueron expendidos de forma completa, el (99%) pertenece al PNUME, el (66%) fueron prescritos en DCI, el (84%) indican su dosis, el (91%) indica la frecuencia y el (76,2%) indica la duración del tratamiento. Sólo el (2%) de los antibióticos fueron sustituidos por otro. Conclusión: Se determinó los problemas más frecuentes a los que está expuesto el paciente cuando se le realiza una prescripción médica. Se estima que de los antibióticos expendidos con receta médica el 99% pertenecen al Petitorio lo cual indica que se está cumpliendo con el listado del PNUME. Se determinó que el porcentaje de antibióticos prescritos en DCI es 65,8% esto refleja la falta de adherencia a la Ley 29459.
