Manual strength, measured using a dynamometer, helps identify this weakness and associate it with the success or failure of weaning from mechanical ventilation through quantifiable indicators. Objective: To determine the relationship between manual grip strength and mechanical ventilation weaning in COVID-19 patients. Materials and methods: Clinical records of patients who were on MV in the ICU will be used. A hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative approach, and a correlational, observational, analytical, and retrospective design will be employed.A raíz de la COVID 19, los pacientes mas graves llegaron a ventilación mecánica (VM), al uso de sedantes y relajantes musculares asociado a una estancia prolongada en VM los pacientes desarrollaron debilidad asociada a la unidad critica (DAUCI), la fuerza depresión manual, a través del dinamómetro nos sirve para poder identificar dicha debilidad a su vez poder asociar al éxito o fracaso del destete de ventilación mecánica por medio de indicadores cuantificables. El objetivo será Determinar relación entre la fuerza de prensión manual y destete de la ventilación mecánica en pacientes COVID-19.
