Introduction: Infections associated with invasive devices represent a significant problem in healthcare settings, particularly in critical care units where hospitalized patients acquire nosocomial infections, with those related to the use of central venous catheters being particularly common. Objective: To determine the relationship between nurses’ knowledge and practices regarding central venous catheter care in the intensive care unit. Methodology: This will be an applied, quantitative, correlational study with a non-experimental cross-sectional design, employing the hypothetical-deductive method. The population and sample will consist of 40 nursing professionals. Instruments: A questionnaire and a checklist will be used, both of which have been validated by expert judgment and demonstrate acceptable levels of reliability, with Cronbach’s alpha coefficients of 0.85 and Kuder-Richardson coefficients of 0.79, respectively. Data processing: Data will be processed using Excel and SPSS version 26, applying descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze the relationship between the variables. Ethical considerations: Ethical principles in research will be respected to ensure the voluntary participation of the participants.application/pdfspahttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/EnfermeríaNursingCatéteres Venosos CentralesCentral Venous CathetersUnidades de Cuidados IntensivosIntensive Care UnitsConocimientos y prácticas del profesional de enfermería sobre el cuidado del catéter venoso central en la unidad de cuidados intensivos de un hospital público de Lima, 2026Knowledge and practices of nursing professionals regarding the care of the central venous catheter in the intensive care unit of a public hospital in Lima, 2026http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_7a1fhttps://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#3.03.03https://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#3.02.08ODS 3: Salud y bienestar.
