Material y método: Método hipotético-deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicada, diseño no experimental observacional. Se trabaja con una muestra de 100 madres, seleccionadas mediante un muestreo probabilístico aleatorio simple, se toma como técnicas la encuesta y observación, así mismo, como instrumentos un cuestionario para calcular el nivel de conocimiento de 11 preguntas, utiliza un formato de respuesta con 3 opciones y una guía observacional para valorar la práctica de lactancia de 10 ítems, Elaborados por Gonzales y Ruiz, para garantizar la confiabilidad del primer instrumento, realizaron una prueba piloto con el 20% de la muestra, aplicando la prueba de medida por Kr-20 (Kuder Richardson), La confiabilidad del segundo instrumento fue evaluada por Gonzales y Ruiz (76) mediante una prueba piloto utilizando el 20% de la muestra y aplicando el Alfa de Cronbach, lo que arrojó una confiabilidad de 0.86, considerada como "alta". Recolección de datos: Para la recolección de datos, se utilizarán dos cuestionarios que han demostrado ser válidos y confiables. Conclusión: Se concluye que existe relación estadísticamente significativa entre conocimiento de la lactancia materna exclusiva y la práctica de las madres de niños menores de 6 meses hospitalizados en un Instituto infantil de Lima.Objective: “To determine the relationship between the knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding and the practices of mothers of children under 6 months hospitalized in a children's institute in Lima 2025”. Material and method: Hypothetical-deductive method, quantitative approach, applied type, observational non-experimental design. The study works with a sample of 100 mothers, selected through simple random probabilistic sampling; the techniques used are surveys and observations, as well as instruments including a questionnaire to assess knowledge level with 11 questions, utilizing a response format with 3 options, and an observational guide to evaluate breastfeeding practices consisting of 10 items, developed by Gonzales and Ruiz. To ensure the reliability of the first instrument, a pilot test was conducted with 20% of the sample, applying the measurement test by Kr-20 (Kuder Richardson), the reliability of the second instrument was evaluated by Gonzales and Ruiz (76) through a pilot test using 20% of the sample and applying Cronbach's Alpha, which yielded a reliability of 0.86, considered 'high'. Data collection: Two questionnaires that have proven to be valid and reliable will be used for data collection.
