Methodology: A quantitative, applied approach, observational design, correlational scope, and transactional section was implemented. The research focused on a group of 80 mothers. Two instruments were used: a questionnaire to evaluate knowledge of breastfeeding and an observation guide to record practices related to breastfeeding. Results: Medium knowledge with adequate breastfeeding practice in mothers was found in 83.8%. Regarding the dimensions of the first variable, in the concept dimension the high level with adequate practice predominated in 58.8%, in the breast care and breastfeeding techniques dimension the high level prevailed with adequate practice in 72.5%. and in the milk extraction and storage dimension the level was high with 60% of adequate practice. And finally, a correlation was found between level of knowledge and breastfeeding practices, and a significant relationship was also found between the dimensions of the level of knowledge with breastfeeding practicesObjetivo:. Material y métodos: El enfoque metodológico utilizado fue cuantitativo, no experimental, transversal y descriptivo.
