Material and Methods: Systematic review of 10 selected articles, using the Pubmed, Elsevier, Science Direct, Redalyc, Cochrane, Researchgate database. It is a quantitative study with a systematic experimental and cohort design. Results: The effectiveness of Plastic Wrap in preventing hypothermia in premature newborns. We found that 100% (n = 10/10) of the articles evidence the effectiveness of Plastic Wrap in preventing hypothermia in premature newborns. The effectiveness in preventing hypothermia in premature newborns together with other devices represents 50% (n=5/10), making skin-to-skin contact and using heat-transmitting mattresses that keep premature newborns warmer, which leads to stable temperatures upon admission to neonatal units and less hypothermia. Conclusion: Plastic Wrap demonstrates effectiveness in preventing hypothermia in premature newborns.Objetivo: Sistematizar la evidencia sobre la efectividad del Plastic Wrap en la prevención de la hipotermia en RN prematuro. Material y Métodos: Revisión sistemática de 10 artículos seleccionados, mediante la base de datos Pubmed, Elsevier, Science Direct, Redalyc, Cochrane, Researchgate. Es un estudio cuantitativo de diseño sistemático experimental y cohorte. Resultados: La efectividad del Plastic Wrap en la prevención de la hipotermia en RN prematuro encontramos que el 100% (n = 10/10) de los artículos evidencia la efectividad del Plastic Wrap en la prevención de la hipotermia en RN prematuro. La efectividad en la prevención de la hipotermia en RN prematuro juntamente con otros dispositivos representan el 50% (n=5/10) realizando el contacto piel a piel y usar los colchones transmisores de calor que mantienen a los neonatos prematuros más calientes, lo que lleva a temperaturas estables al ingreso a las unidades neonatales y menos hipotermia.
