The method used was a quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive study. The population consists of 80 students, and the instrument used was the Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS-24), which contains 24 items divided into three dimensions: Emotional Perception, Understanding of Emotions, and Emotional Regulation. The results showed that out of 100% (80 students), 80% (64 students) exhibited adequate emotional intelligence, followed by 18.8% (15 students) with low emotional intelligence, and 1.2% (1 student) with high emotional intelligence. Regarding the dimensions, in the Emotional Perception dimension, 80% showed adequate emotional intelligence, followed by 17.5% with low emotional intelligence and 2.5% with high emotional intelligence. In the Understanding of Emotions dimension, 85% exhibited adequate emotional intelligence, 15% showed low emotional intelligence, and finally, in the Emotional Regulation dimension, 77.5% demonstrated adequate emotional intelligence, followed by 18.8% with low emotional intelligence, and 3.7% with high emotional intelligence. The conclusion drawn is that the students exhibited adequate emotional intelligence.Objetivo: determinar la Inteligencia Emocional de alumnos del 7mo y 8vo ciclo de enfermería de la Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener , El método; estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, de corte transversal, descriptivo, la población es de 80 alumnos, el instrumento que se realizo es Trait-Meta Mood Scale (TMMS – 24)”, que consta de 24 ítems, los resultados; se encontró que del 100% (80 alumnos). Se encontró que el 80% (64 alumnos), mostraron una inteligenciaemocional adecuada, seguida de un 18.8% (15 alumnos) una baja inteligencia emocional y el 1.2% (1 alumnos) inteligencia emocional alta. Por otro lado en las dimensiones, se encontró que dimensión percepción emocional el 80% presento una inteligencia emocional adecuada, seguido de un 17.5% baja y el 2.5% alta. En la dimensión comprensión de emociones, se encontró que el 85% presento una inteligencia emocional adecuada, el 15% baja y por último en la dimensión regulación de emociones, el 77.5% presento una inteligencia emocional adecuada, seguida de un 18.8% baja y el 3.7% alta.
