Publicación Acceso abierto Polifarmacia y calidad de vida en adultos de la tercera edad en el grupo 18 y 19 del primer sector del distrito de Villa el Salvador – Lima Metropolitana, 2021–2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-07-09) Aguilar Chávez, Ronald Javier; Candela Rodríguez, Cecilia Lorena; León Apac, Gabriel EnriqueThe objective of this report was to identify the relationship between polypharmacy and quality of life in older adults in groups 18 and 19 of the first sector of the Villa el Salvador district, Metropolitan Lima, from 2021 to 2022. Method: A quantitative approach was used, with a basic type, a non-experimental design, and a correlational level. A sample of 280 adults over 60 years old who consumed more than three medications was obtained. A questionnaire with questions about polypharmacy and quality of life was administered via a survey. SPSS Version 25.0 was used for statistical analysis, and the Chi-squared test of independence was performed at a 5% significance level. Result: Regarding the general hypothesis, it was observed that polypharmacy is related to quality of life because the p-value is less than 0.05 (p=0.000). Conclusion: It was established that a relationship exists between polypharmacy and quality of life in older adults in groups 18 and 19 of the first sector of the Villa el Salvador district, Metropolitan Lima, from 2021 to 2022.
