Premature babies with very low birth weight require special nutrition due to insufficient nutrients and proteins that can affect development and growth. The study aims to "Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice regarding the administration of parenteral nutrition by nursing professionals in the neonatal intensive care service of a hospital in Lima, 2022." With a quantitative approach because the variables are represented through statistical tables. The design is transversal, non-experimental and correlational, 80 nurses will be part of the sample which will be census, likewise, two validated instruments will be used for the first variable, a questionnaire will be used and for the second variable an observation guide, the information will be collected with prior consent and later the results will be processed and analyzed through a statistical program Microsoft Excel and SPSS version 26. On the other hand, the non-parametric chi square test will be used for the hypothesis test that will verify if there is a relationship between the study variables; finally the findings will be represented in graphs and tables.
