It will be to determine the therapeutic adherence and social support in the elderly with type 2 diabetes mellitus, belonging to the elderly club of the Chancay hospital. Material and method. The research has a qualitative approach, with a cross-sectional methodological - correlational design, because the variables present in the study will be measured numerically. The design will be non-experimental since said research will not deliberately manipulate the variables. Likewise, it will occur in a single time and in a single moment and look for the relationship between both variables. The population will be made up of 80 older adults who have type II diabetes mellitus. The participating older adults were selected according to the exclusion and inclusion criteria defined in the research. An inclusion criterion is that older adults who belong to the club participate. of the older adult. The informants of the present study were for the elderly of the elderly club of the Chancay hospital. The technique that will be used in this study will be the survey. The instrument to collect information will be a structured questionnaire about therapeutic adherence and social support in older adults with type 2 DM, belonging to the older adult club of the Chancay hospital; It consists of two variables: First we have the therapeutic adherence scale (EAT) (Soria, Vega and Nava, 2009), which has 23 items, divided into dimensions that are combined into three factors; control in taking medications and eating food (07 items), monitoring the doctor's behavior (08 items), self-efficacy (07 items). Which allows us to see compliance or not with medical advice. The measure of social support, made by Sherbourne et al. (1991). Defined by 20 items, divided into dimensions that are grouped into four factors; emotional support (09 items), instrumental or material help (04 items), positive social intervention (04 items), affective support (04 items).
