Ítem Acceso abierto Functional capacity and its relationship with gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy from 3 to 6 years of age from a private clinic, Lima - 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-28) Alanoca Chayña, Jocelyn; Puma Chombo, Jorge EloyCerebral palsy in children is one of the most frequent causes of disability, which can vary due to different sociodemographic factors and/or chronic or heterogeneous clinical diseases, limiting the child's independence or semi-dependence in their daily activities (ADLs). Many parents seek pediatric and neuropediatric consultations, and studies suggest that a child's development level depends on the type and severity of the injury and other accompanying factors. Severe gross motor impairment often leads to limited interaction, integration, cognition, and socialization, resulting in partial or total deficits in functional abilities, particularly in mobility, daily activities, and socialization. Children who maintain low postures often present with a gross motor function level 5, and emotional factors play a significant role in improving posture.
