    Relación entre el perfil lipídico y los índices antropométricos en población adulta de 40 a 50 años del distrito de Ate – Huaycán, Lima 2023

    The present study aimed to determine the relationship between lipid profile and anthropometric indices in adults aged 40 to 50 years from Ate-Huaycán, Lima, in 2023. It was a basic, cross-sectional, correlational study with a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 87 adults of both sexes, and data were collected using an observational form to record lipid profile values and anthropometric indices. Statistical analysis included descriptive methods and Spearman’s Rho correlation. The results showed a positive and moderate correlation between total cholesterol and BMI (p<0.05, Rho=0.57). A weak positive correlation was found between HDL and LDL cholesterol and BMI (p<0.05, Rho=0.33–0.37), while a weak positive association was also identified between total cholesterol and waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) (p<0.05, Rho=0.22). In contrast, no significant relationship was observed between triglycerides and BMI, nor between triglycerides, HDL cholesterol, and LDL cholesterol with WHR (p>0.05). In conclusion, the findings indicate that there is a significant relationship between lipid profile and anthropometric indices in adults aged 40 to 50 years in Ate-Huaycán, Lima, in 2023.
