    Cumplimiento de las buenas prácticas de prescripción en el sistema de dispensación de medicamentos dosis unitaria del Hospital de Emergencias José Casimiro Ulloa, junio–septiembre, año 2018

    The objective was to evaluate compliance with Good Prescribing Practices (GPP) for Unit Dose in the pharmacy of the José Casimiro Ulloa Emergency Hospital from June to September 2018. Materials and Methods: An observational, descriptive, retrospective, and cross-sectional study was conducted. The materials consisted of 312 randomly selected medical prescription sheets, with 25% (78) from the Medicine area, 19.2% (60) from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 20.2% (63) from the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), and 35.6% (111) from the Neurosurgery area. Results: 100% (312) of the prescriptions recorded the patient's full name and clinical history, but 100% (312) did not record the patient's age. 97.4% (304) contained the diagnosis, and 94.6% (295) prescribed using the International Nonproprietary Name (INN). Compliance for medication concentration was 95.5% (298), and 100% (312) of the prescriptions registered dose frequency and pharmaceutical form. 99.4% complied with placing the route of administration, and 95.2% (297) included prescriber data. 88.5% (276) of prescriptions had legible handwriting, while 25.3% (79) used acronyms. 74% (231) of prescribers complied with the guidelines of the National Single Essential Medicines List (PNUME). Conclusions: The majority of medical prescriptions demonstrated compliance with Good Prescribing Practices (GPP) for Unit Dose at the José Casimiro Ulloa Emergency Hospital from June to September 2018.
