    Relación de afecciones digestivas con el empleo de plantas medicinales en personas adultas que acuden al Mercado Sarita Colonia San Juan de Lurigancho, 2024

    The objective was to relate digestive conditions to the use of medicinal plants in adults who go to the Sarita Colonia market in San Juan de Lurigancho, 2024. Method. The study used a hypothetical deductive method, non-experimental design, correlational descriptive level, cross-sectional, quantitative approach, basic type, the sample consisted of 169 adults, the information was collected by survey using a questionnaire, Spearman's Rho analysis was performed to contrast the hypothesis. Results. Of 169 respondents, 53.8% were men, 43.8% were between 41-50 years old, in digestive conditions, 26% presented early satiety; 24.9% meteorism; 29.6% regurgitation; 23.1% heartburn, 15.4% difficulty swallowing; 15.4% intestinal colic; 11.2% abdominal swelling, 14.8% nausea and/or vomiting and 40.8% diarrhea after meals. In the use of medicinal plants, 31.4% used lemon verbena; 14.2% chamomile; 15.4% ginger; 19.5% fennel; 29.6% rosemary; 33.1% anise; 24.9% mint and 11.2% holy herb. 46.7% used the entire plant, 39.6% the leaves, 23.7% the flowers and 21.3% the bark, 56.2% prepared infusions, administered between 1 to 3 times a day during the week; 26.6% used them for moderate indigestion; 36.1% for severe gastroesophageal reflux, 30.8% for moderate abdominal distension. The rho value was 0.905 indicating very high positive correlation. Conclusion. There is a very high positive relationship between digestive conditions and the use of medicinal plants in adults who go to the Sarita Colonia market in San Juan de Lurigancho.
