    Polypharmacy is common in older adults with cardiovascular comorbidities and is associated with adverse reactions, hospitalizations, and impaired quality of life. In Peru, self-medication, fragmented access to medications, and poor coordination between healthcare levels exacerbate this problem, especially in populous districts such as San Juan de Miraflores. Objective: To determine the relationship between polypharmacy and quality of life in older adults with cardiovascular diseases treated at the aforementioned pharmacy. Materials and methods: A quantitative, basic, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational study was conducted in 81 adults aged ≥60 years. An ad hoc polypharmacy questionnaire and the SF-12 were administered. Descriptive analyses and association tests (χ², ANOVA) were performed, with a significance level of 0.05. Results: A total of 40.7% of participants presented polypharmacy. Quality of life was mostly low (49.4%) or below average (44.4%). A statistically significant inverse relationship was demonstrated between the number of medications taken and quality of life (p=10.079; p=0.039). Conclusion: It is concluded that polypharmacy had a negative and multifactorial impact on the well-being of the population studied, mediated by adverse effects and a deterioration in daily functioning.
