Ítem Acceso abierto Prevalence of disability due to low back pain in police personnel of the Ramón Castilla Police Station in the district of Callao, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-06-30) Angeles Alvino, Mishel Janet; Puma Chombo, Jorge EloyLumbar pain represents a significant public health issue in first-world countries, with considerable socio-health repercussions. In over 90% of individuals suffering from low back pain, it is difficult to find an alteration that justifies the symptoms. Common diagnostic tests, such as imaging, provide little information and are often confusing due to misdiagnoses. The lifetime prevalence of lumbar pain is estimated at 60% to 80%, with an annual incidence of 5% to 25%. It is one of the most common causes of work absenteeism, disability, and the need for care, both at the primary health level and in hospitals.
