The assessment of nutritional status should be a common practice and dietary education is very important to correct questions about your diet and avoid complications. The objective was to associate how much the patient knows about his diet and his nutritional status. Quantitative, descriptive, correlational study, with non-probabilistic sampling of convenience technique. We worked with a sample of 65 patients with chronic kidney disease with hemodialysis, from a Lima hospital in February 2019, selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Validated and reliable instruments were used. STATA version 23 was used for data analysis. 9% presented moderate malnutrition and 91% mild malnutrition. Regarding how much does the patient know about his diet? 22% showed high or adequate knowledge, 32% low. knowledge and 46% average knowledge. It is concluded that there is no association between nutritional status and how much you know about food.
