Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding in adolescent postpartum women from San Juan de Lurigancho and San José hospitals during the period of April-May 2017(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-11-10) Villarreal Pariona, Claudia Esther; Arbildo Rodríguez Carola ClaudiaMaterials and methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional study. The study sample was made up of postpartum adolescents from HSJL (n=130) and HSJ (n=48), in the period from April to May 2017. The instrument used was the survey, to whom a questionnaire was applied, previously subjected to expert validation and reliability analysis (K.R = 0.6425). The responses were rated using the vigesimal scale, bad or deficient = 0 to 10, regular = 11 to 15, good = 16 to 20. For information processing, the SPSS version 22 program and Excel were used. Results: The predominant age range was 17 to 19 years in the postpartum adolescents in both hospitals, with a secondary education level. The predominant level of knowledge in both hospitals was fair, regarding exclusive breastfeeding. In the HSJL, 58.5%(76) of regular knowledge was obtained, followed by the level of good knowledge with 33.1%(43) and only 8.5%(11) of bad knowledge. In the HSJ, 79.2%(38) had regular knowledge, 14.6%(7) had good knowledge, and 6.3%(3) had bad knowledge. Conclusion: The majority of postpartum adolescents presented a regular level of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding in the San Juan de Lurigancho and San José hospitals. The development of programs is needed to educate and raise awareness among future nursing mothers to avoid early weaning.Ítem Acceso abierto Reasons for abandoning exclusive breastfeeding in women of reproductive age attending external consultations at San Juan de Lurigancho Hospital, August – September 2017(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-05-15) Gamboa Gomero, Katherine Elizabeth; Arbildo Rodríguez Carola ClaudiaMaterial and method: Prospective descriptive and cross-sectional study. Results: The sociodemographic factors were found to be between 20 and 34 years old, 31.9% incomplete secondary school, 26.9% single, 34.1% housewives and 40.1% primigravida. In family factors, 63.7% have family support, 54.9% have been abandoned by their partner, also with 72.5% no domestic violence was found and 66.5% were not influenced by negative experiences. The work factors: 47.8% returned to their work environment, 18.1% returned to their studies, 58.9% did not have breastfeeding hours and 70.1% did not have breastfeeding hours. However, in personal factors at the level of knowledge, 75.2% recognize the nutritional benefits of breast milk; on the other hand, at the level of complications, 56% suffered from pain when breastfeeding and 24.7% presented cracks in the nipple, 43.4% felt despair and helplessness and 34.1% felt stress. Conclusions: The most frequent reasons for abandoning exclusive breastfeeding were family and work factors, since in the absence of support from both, successful breastfeeding would not be achieved.Ítem Acceso abierto Risk factors in pregnant women with severe preeclampsia attended at Hospital Amazónico during 2016(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Romero Pinedo, Melissa; Arbildo Rodríguez Carola ClaudiaIn the present study, a methodology is used to determine the sociodemographic, cultural, and economic characteristics of women over 18 years old who had an abortion at the Hipólito Unanue National Hospital between January and October of 2015. It was revealed that the sociodemographic characteristics include: early age, cohabiting marital status, secondary education level, currently working, being from the coastal region, residing in El Agustino, and experiencing psychological family pressure due to economic instability. Additionally, the cultural characteristics highlighted include: machismo, due to the lack of partner participation in household chores, a situation unfortunately justified by the respondents; and the Catholic religion, which most respondents profess. Finally, the most notable economic characteristics are: a monthly income between 600 and 1000 soles, monthly expenses less than 600 soles, three people living in the household, no economic dependency, two family members contributing to household expenses, and living in a brick-built house.
