    The objective of this study was to determine the frequency of pulp pathologies in patients treated at the endodontics service of the PNP-Angamos Specialized Clinic, Lima, in 2016. This was a descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective, observational study in which medical records registered in 2016 were reviewed. A total of 656 medical records were examined, meeting the inclusion criteria of individuals aged 19 to 51 and older. Descriptive and inferential statistics (alpha = 0.05) were performed using the SPSS statistical program. It was found that 90.9% of the patients had at least one tooth with pulp pathology, with a higher prevalence in the 51 years and older age group (34.6%). Of these, 53.8% were male, and 37% were female. The most frequently found pulp diagnosis was pulp necrosis (40.2%), followed by symptomatic irreversible pulpitis (27.6%).

    This study aims to determine the level of knowledge about oral hygiene measures through a test/questionnaire administered to primigravida or multigravida mothers attending obstetric consultations at the El Progreso Health Center in 2017. Methodology: This was an observational, cross-sectional, and descriptive study. The questionnaire consisted of structured questions (dichotomous and multiple-choice) about knowledge of oral hygiene elements, their functions, oral pathologies related to hygiene, and oral hygiene techniques. Each correct answer was awarded one point. The regular level of knowledge was the most frequent (66.2%). Pregnant women in their third trimester showed a higher level of knowledge (29.3%). Participants with secondary education had the highest level of knowledge (46.8%). Those with up to three prenatal visits demonstrated a higher level of knowledge (36%). Conclusion: Most pregnant women exhibited a regular level of knowledge about oral hygiene.

    The objective of this study was to determine the difference in anxiety levels before dental consultation between patients attending the specialties of dental operatory and oral surgery at the Angamos Specialized Dental Clinic in Peru. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted in the specialties of Dental Operatory and Oral Surgery, with 144 patients surveyed (72 in each specialty). A questionnaire was given to each patient in each specialty. The Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) was used. Results: No significant difference was found between anxiety and specialty. In both specialties, the anxiety level was minimal. In the dental operatory specialty, 86.1% of the patients (62 of 72) had a minimal anxiety level. In the oral surgery specialty, 79.2% of the patients (57 of 72) had a minimal anxiety level. By sex, 22.2% of women (32 of 40) and 60.4% of men (87 of 104) had a minimal anxiety level. By age, 34% of those aged 18-38 (49 of 63), 41% of those aged 39-59 (59 of 67), and 7.6% of those aged 60 and older (11 of 14) had a minimal anxiety level. By operator's sex, 8.3% of patients treated by female operators (12 of 14) and 74.3% of patients treated by male operators (107 of 130) had a minimal anxiety level. Conclusions: It was concluded that there is no difference in anxiety levels before entering dental consultation, as in both specialties, the anxiety level is minimal; however, this difference is not significant.

    General objective: To determine the frequency of premature loss of primary teeth in patients aged 4 to 8 years treated at the PNP-Angamos Specialized Clinic, Lima 2016. Materials and methods: Descriptive, retrospective, observational, cross-sectional study. Population: 1300 patients who attended the pediatric dentistry service at the PNP-Angamos Specialized Clinic during 2016. The sample consisted of 573 patient medical records. The data were analyzed statistically using the SPSS statistical program, employing descriptive statistics. Results: Of the 573 pediatric patient medical records evaluated, 44.5% showed the absence of at least one tooth. Among the teeth considered in the study, canines showed a loss of 8.4%, first molars 17.8%, and second molars 19.0%. According to sex, females had a higher rate of tooth loss, with 24%. Regarding age, 8-year-old children showed the highest loss. Conclusion: Nearly half of the sample showed premature loss of primary teeth.

    The objective was to determine the fluoride concentration in ppm in children's toothpaste marketed in Lima, Peru, in 2017. The research was observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional. A non-random sample of 8 brands of pediatric toothpaste was collected from pharmacies and drugstores in Lima, with a total of 48 samples (6 from each brand) since 8 brands were available in the market. The Student's t-test and Wilcoxon test for a single sample were used for analysis. Results: The difference between the labeled fluoride concentration and what was found based on the median was: Colgate Smile® 6 years: 119.8 ppm, Oral B Pro Salud Stages®: 57.05 ppm. The difference between labeled fluoride concentration and what was found based on the average was: Colgate Smile 2-5 years®: -31.2 ppm, Farmadent Kids®: -36.27 ppm, Dentito®: -520.1 ppm, Aqua Fresh Little Teeth® (2-5 years): 41.68 ppm, Vitis Junior®: 141.85 ppm, Aqua Fresh Big Teeth® (6 years and older): 112.82 ppm; of those, only Aqua Fresh Little Teeth® (2-5 years) was not significant. Regarding the pH of the toothpastes, the values were: Colgate Smile® 6 years: 5.92, Colgate Smile® 2-5 years: 5.5, Oral B Pro Salud Stages®: 5.5, Farmadent Kids®: 6, Dentito®: 6, Aqua Fresh Little Teeth® (2-5 years): 5.5, Vitis Junior®: 5.5, Aqua Fresh Big Teeth® (6 years and older): 6. Conclusion: Three toothpastes had fluoride concentrations lower than labeled, and five toothpastes had higher concentrations than labeled (with one of them being not significant).

    The objective of this research was to determine the level of satisfaction of patients who received dental services at the specialized dental clinic PNP-Angamos, 2016. The study was observational, cross-sectional, and descriptive. The sample consisted of 700 patients. The modified SERVQUAL instrument provided by MINSA was used to determine patient satisfaction. It was concluded that the level of satisfaction of patients who received dental services at the PNP-Angamos dental clinic in 2016 was dissatisfied (88.6%; 622 out of 702). The highest frequency of satisfied patients in the clinic was women (6%; 42 out of 317). The study concluded that the majority of patients who received dental services at the PNP-Angamos specialized dental clinic in 2016 were dissatisfied.

    Comparación de nivel de conocimiento sobre la salud bucal entre gestantes atendidas en puesto de salud y en hospital

    La presente investigación tiene como objetivo comparar el nivel de conocimiento sobre la salud oral en gestantes atendidas en un puesto de salud del Minsa y en un hospital de EsSalud. Estudio observacional, transversal. Fue aplicado un cuestionario sobre salud oral, validado por revisión de literatura y juicio de expertos, que constó de veintidós preguntas cerradas a 160 gestantes entre 18 y 40 años de edad, que realizaron su control prenatal en un puesto de salud o en un hospital. Para la comparación de variables cualitativas se utilizó Chi cuadrado y prueba exacta de Fisher. El 31,9 % (51 de 160) de las gestantes que registraron un nivel de conocimiento regular fueron las atendidas en el puesto de salud del Minsa. El 29,4 % (47 de 160), que fueron atendidas en EsSalud obtuvieron un nivel de conocimiento bueno (p=0,000). Hubo una diferencia en el nivel de conocimiento sobre la salud oral en las gestantes: las embarazadas atendidas en el Minsa obtuvieron una mayor frecuencia en el nivel regular.

    Cultura de seguridad del paciente y cultura organizacional en el personal de enfermería de un hospital, Lima - Perú 2019

    El estudio tiene por título “Cultura de seguridad del paciente y cultura organizacional en el personal de enfermería de un Hospital, Lima-Perú 2019”. El objetivo fue “Determinar la relación entre cultura de seguridad del paciente y la cultura organizacional en el personal de enfermería del hospital San Bartolomé”. Se realizó un estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, tipo de investigación aplicada, de diseño no experimental y de nivel correlacional, de corte transversal realizado en el Hospital San Bartolomé durante el mes de agosto del 2019 donde participaron 100 enfermeras que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Para la recolección de datos se aplicó dos instrumentos para cada variable, siendo validado por juicio de experto. Se encontró que el 97% fueron mujeres, 44% fueron menores de 35 años de edad, el 54% fue soltero, el 75% fue nombrado y el 38% fue del área de hospitalización. Se encontró relación significativa entre cultura de seguridad del paciente y la cultura organizacional P<0.05 (p= 0,008). Se encontró relación significativa entre cultura seguridad del paciente con la dimensión artefactos visibles (p=0,030) sin embargo no se encontró relaciones con las dimensiones ambiente empresarial, sistema de comunicación, sistema gerencial y administrativo, y sistema de valores y creencias.
