Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of myofascial release techniques on lumbar functionality in patients with non-specific low back pain at the San Gabriel Clinic, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-16) Asmat Soto, Lissbett; Bejarano Ambrosio, Miriam JuvitLow back pain is increasing worldwide, becoming one of the leading causes of disability associated with significant economic costs. Therefore, early intervention has proven effective in preventing work absenteeism. The treatment goal for chronic low back pain is to alleviate pain, increase mobility, prevent physical and mental disability, and reduce work absenteeism, with an essential focus on improving life conditions and physical function. Manual therapy is performed through sustained pressure and movements that act on the entire fascial system. The aim is to release restrictions in the myofascial system by decreasing trigger points and allowing muscle flexibility to reach optimal range. The methodology is based on the application of the Oswestry questionnaire, the visual analog scale (VAS), and the application of manual techniques (myofascial release). The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of myofascial release techniques in lumbar functionality for patients with non-specific low back pain at the San Gabriel Clinic.
