Publicación Acceso abierto Evaluación del efecto antiinflamatorio de la grasa de Boa constrictor constrictor "Boa Mantona" comercializada en el Emporio Comercial de Gamarra – La Victoria. Lima 2015(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-01-29) Atequipa Quispe, Jessica; Cabrera Pachacama, Elisabeth; Chávez Flores, Juana ElviraAn experimental study was conducted to determine the anti-inflammatory effect of Boa constrictor constrictor fat (“Boa Mantona”) using the xylene-induced ear edema method in mice. The study population consisted of 48 mice, distributed into six groups of eight animals each. Topical applications included pure Boa fat, creams formulated with the fat at concentrations of 15%, 20%, and 30%, and the reference drug diclofenac 1% cream. Simultaneously, a physicochemical and analytical study of Boa constrictor constrictor fat was performed. For statistical analysis, descriptive and inferential methods were applied; data were processed to determine the mean ± standard deviation, and ANOVA was employed for inferential analysis. The results showed that the fat of Boa constrictor constrictor and the creams at 20% and 30% concentrations produced significant anti-inflammatory effects (p<0.05), indicating a differentiated anti-inflammatory response. In the analytical study, gas chromatography revealed that 97.7% of the fatty acids were identified, of which 31.9% were saturated fatty acids, 43.6% monounsaturated fatty acids, and 22.2% polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega-6 and omega-3).
