    Knowledge and practices of self-care of ostomy patients, of the surgery service at the Barranca Hospital - Cajatambo SBS, 2024

    Objective: To determine how knowledge is related to the self-care practices of ostomized patients in the surgery department. Methodology: Quantitative research with a hypotheticaldeductive, cross-sectional, correlational, applied and non-experimental method. Population: 45 ostomized patients will be considered in the surgical service. As data collection techniques, surveys and observation will be used using validated and reliable instruments, the first being a questionnaire to measure knowledge developed in 2017 by Amado et al., consisting of 15 items, in the second case the instrument to measure the self-care practices of ostomized patients was a 28-item questionnaire developed by Amado et al. in Peru in 2017. The data will be tabulated to produce the necessary statistics and interpreted using tables and graphs as needed. Finally, the degree of correlation between both variables will be evaluated using Spearman's coefficient, which will respond to the objectives set.
