This research study was conducted on an adult population due to the high frequency of metformin acquisition, with the objective of determining its proper use among diabetic patients at the Salud & Bendición pharmacy in Pueblo Libre, Lima – Metropolitan area, 2022. Methodology: The study followed a quantitative approach, a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, and a descriptive scope. A sample of 291 users was taken, and the survey technique was applied using a questionnaire with 12 questions. SPSS Version 22 was used for the results. In the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, it was observed that the variable and dimensions had significance values of <0.05, indicating that the data does not follow a normal distribution. Conclusion: For the variable regarding proper use of metformin, 6% (17) of the 291 respondents fell into the "some" category, while 94% (274) fell into the "all" category, indicating that the majority use metformin properly. For the medical prescription dimension, 0.3% (1) fell into the "some" category, while 99.7% (290) fell into the "all" category. For the self-medication dimension, 7.9% (23) fell into the "all" category, and 92.1% (268) fell into the "none" category, indicating that no one self-medicates. For the lack of knowledge or awareness of the medication's effects dimension, 1% (3) fell into the "none" category, 41% (118) into the "some" category, and 58% (170) into the "all" category, highlighting a significant percentage.
