    Use of social networks and depressive symptomatology in students of a private university of Lima, 2019.

    This study aimed to understand the relationship between social media use and depressive symptomatology in students at a private university in the district of Cercado de Lima. The study adhered to the guidelines of a quantitative, correlational, descriptive, and comparative method, and followed a non-experimental, cross-sectional approach. A social media addiction questionnaire and Beck Depression Inventory were used for data collection. The study included 154 female and 65 male participants. Results revealed that social media use and depressive symptoms were significantly positively correlated. Similarly, the dimensions of both variables showed a correlation. Furthermore, students aged 17 to 21 were found to be more vulnerable.
