    Knowledge and practices of suction of secretion in the nursing professional in intensive care of a private clinic in Lima, 2023

    In the field of intensive care, it is extremely necessary that nursing professionals have the appropriate specialization to assume the various cases that arise. One of them is the one that involves aspirating the secretions in patients who require mechanical ventilation, a procedure that involves a high risk since nosocomial infections such as pneumonia can occur, a disease that could complicate the patient's condition and endanger his life. OBJECTIVE: to determine the relationship between knowledge and secretion aspiration practices of the intensive care nursing professional at a clinic in Lima, 2022. MATERIALS AND METHODS: it will be quantitative, applied, non-experimental - cross-sectional, descriptive - correlational. 80 nurses will participate. A questionnaire and a checklist will be used to measure the variables knowledge and secretion aspiration practices, respectively.
