Publicación Acceso abierto Nivel de conocimiento y automedicación con antibióticos para el tratamiento de la COVID-19 en adultos de la Asociación María Magdalena Carapongo Lurigancho – Chosica, Lima 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-01-17) Rodríguez Bardales, José Luis; Balvín Menéndez, Rosalia Hilaria; Guadalupe Sifuentes de Posadas, Luz FabiolaThe objective of this research was to evaluate the relationship between the level of knowledge and self-medication with antibiotics for the treatment of COVID-19 in adults from the Asociación María Magdalena, Carapongo Lurigancho – Chosica, Lima, 2021. Methodology: The study was descriptive and cross-sectional. Using the survey technique, a simple random probabilistic sample of 265 adult residents of both sexes who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria in the Asociación María Magdalena, Carapongo Lurigancho – Chosica, Lima, was surveyed. A questionnaire on the level of knowledge and self-medication with antibiotics was applied as the data collection instrument to measure the study variables and their respective dimensions. Results: 81.8% of the adults from the Asociación María Magdalena, Carapongo Lurigancho – Chosica, reported taking medications without a prescription in the last six months, and 76% of them had a medium level of knowledge about COVID-19 treatment. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and self-medication with antibiotics among adults in the Asociación María Magdalena, Carapongo Lurigancho – Chosica.
