Ítem Acceso abierto Levels of empathic orientation and its association with family and academic sociodemographic factors in students from the fifth to the tenth cycle of dentistry at the Norbert Wiener Private University(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-05-09) Espinoza Cotrina, Mishel Gandy; Bamonde Segura, Leyla KatherineObjective: To determine the levels of empathetic orientation and its association with sociodemographic, family, and academic factors in students from the fifth to the tenth cycle of Dentistry at the Norbert Wiener Private University. Materials and methods: The approach was quantitative, with a hypothetical-deductive method, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and prospective. The study involved 283 students. The technique used was a survey, and questionnaires were applied and validated by expert judgment. Results: It was found that the global empathetic orientation variable was 84.5% of students, with a medium level. Regarding the academic factor, 72.2% of the students did not choose Dentistry as their first option, and 83% did not fail any subject more than once. On the other hand, significant differences were found regarding marital status and academic semester in relation to empathy. There was also a significant relationship between choosing Dentistry as the first option and empathy. Conclusion: There is a relationship between some sociodemographic and academic factors, but no significant relationship with the family aspect.Ítem Acceso abierto Oral soft tissue lesions in pregnant women diagnosed with symptomatic and asymptomatic covid 19 treated at the Madre Niño San Bartolomé Teaching Hospital, Lima-Peru from October to December 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-10-06) Trujillo Sante, Wilder Eduardo; Bamonde Segura, Leyla KatherineA study was conducted to identify the main oral soft tissue lesions in pregnant women diagnosed with symptomatic and asymptomatic COVID-19, attended at the Hospital Docente Madre Niño San Bartolomé in Lima, Peru, from October to December 2020. This descriptive, cross-sectional study examined pregnant women with COVID-19. Results: 37% of pregnant women with COVID-19 presented macular enanthem in the oral cavity; among them, 32% had the lesion in the tonsillar fossa, 3% in the uvula, and 1% in the soft palate. Similarly, 11% of pregnant women with COVID-19 developed macular enanthem during the first trimester, 5% during the second trimester, and 84% during the third trimester. Symptomatic pregnant women with COVID-19 who presented macular enanthem accounted for 7%, while asymptomatic cases accounted for 30%. Conclusion: Pregnant women with COVID-19 presented macular enanthem lesions, most frequently in the tonsillar fossa (32%).Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between anxiety and temporomandibular disorder in people of the city of Huari, Ancash 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-05-20) Lopez Iberico, Jorge Obeth; Bamonde Segura, Leyla KatherineThe purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between anxiety and temporomandibular disorders in the population of the city of Huari, Ancash, in 2021. The approach was quantitative with a deductive, non-experimental, relational method, where 383 residents of the city of Huari were selected through random probabilistic sampling. The technique used was a survey, where the Zung test and the Fonseca anamnesis index were applied to assess the levels of anxiety and temporomandibular disorders, respectively. It was found that 86.1% of the residents of Huari had normal levels of anxiety, while 12.5% had mild anxiety, and 1.5% had moderate anxiety. The majority were female, and 52.5% had normal anxiety levels. The largest group was aged between 30 and 45 years, with 70% showing normal anxiety levels. On the other hand, 48% of the residents of Huari did not present any prevalence of temporomandibular disorders, while 27.9% had mild, 20.5% had moderate, and 3.6% had severe disorders. Most residents of Huari were female, and 27.3% did not have severe temporomandibular disorder. Additionally, the majority were aged 30 to 45 years and did not have severe temporomandibular disorders (43.6%). It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between anxiety and temporomandibular disorders in the residents of Huari.
