Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of participatory ergonomics in workers.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-08) Barreto Atoche, Yanina Vanessa; Pretell Aguilar, Rosa MariaObjective: To analyze and systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of participatory ergonomics in workers. Materials and Methods: The study follows a systematic review design, consulting databases such as EBSCO, Cochrane Library, PubMed, Dialnet, Lume, Tandfonline, Academia OUP, and Sciencedirect. The quality of the articles was analyzed using the GRADE system, a method for evaluating the quality of evidence and the strength of recommendations. Results: 23 research articles were analyzed, with a sample of 10 scientific articles, 20% from Canada, Finland, Turkey, and the Netherlands, and 10% from New Zealand and Venezuela. The designs and study types included 50% Randomized Controlled Trials, 20% systematic reviews and quasi-experimental, and 10% prospective studies. Conclusions: 70% of the studies show the effectiveness of participatory ergonomics in workers because it is applicable in different productive sectors, allowing changes in the organization with low-cost or easily implementable interventions. It prevents musculoskeletal disorders related to work, reducing symptoms and musculoskeletal injury, as well as physical, ergonomic, psychosocial risk factors, and physical work load. 30% of the studies were not effective because they showed no reduction in exposure to psychosocial risk factors in the workplace, with no improvement in the mental quality of life of workers, causing job dissatisfaction, mental stress, poor interpersonal relationships, or exposure to physical risk factors for neck and low back pain.
