    Effectiveness of myofascialrelease on pain intensity, functional capacity, and flexibility in patients with low back pain from a hospital in Chimbote, 2023

    The intense pain between the lower edge of the last ribs and the gluteal fold is referred to as lumbar pain. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that 70% of adults experience a lumbar pain episode during their lifetime. It is relevant to mention that chronic lumbar pain is associated with kinesiophobia and disability in performing daily life activities. Therefore, lumbar pain is the reason why patients live with a disability for many years. In Spain, various physiotherapeutic interventions are used, with myofascial release as an alternative to treat this pain. Objectives: The general objective is to determine the level of effectiveness of myofascial release on pain intensity, functional capacity, and flexibility in patients with lumbar pain. Material and Method: The experimental design with a quasi-experimental sub-design with pre- and post-test with a control group will be used. Pain intensity will be measured using the visual analog scale, functional capacity will be measured using the Oswestry Disability Index, and flexibility will be measured using the finger-to-floor test.
