    Pain intensity, disability and cervical motor control in staff who work at the pro-life clinic in the city of Lima, 2023

    Cervical pain is the fourth leading cause of disability. It is defined as the presence of musculoskeletal pain in the posterior neck region, above the shoulder blades (upper back area). It is estimated that between 22% to 70% of the population will experience cervical pain at some point in their life, concluding that it is a very common and increasingly frequent issue. The annual incidence rate in adults is 14.6%, with women slightly more affected than men (5.8% versus 4.2%). The main characteristics in people with cervical pain include reduced range of motion (ROM), difficulty completing daily tasks, and the origin is often unknown, but it is associated with motor control disorders. Due to the high incidence of cervical pain and functional limitations in the staff at the Pro Vida Clinic, it will be necessary to find the relationships between disability, pain, and cervical instability in order to suggest, design, and teach key stabilization exercises that promote pain reduction and increase cervical stability. This will help progressively and significantly improve the quality of life of all staff and reduce healthcare and absenteeism costs.
