Mayo 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-05-17) Bautista Huamaní, Alexi Arthur; Damian Inga, Elvis Cesar; López Parra, Ronal RosendoThe research, titled "Rate of Ethanol Elimination in Biological Samples (Blood) in Adults from Mangomarca – San Juan de Lurigancho, May 2018," had the objective of determining the rate of ethanol elimination in biological samples (blood). Methodology: A descriptive, experimental, and cross-sectional study was conducted. Blood samples were collected in heparin vials from 36 adults from Mangomarca, SJL. The study began with the ingestion of 1260 mL of beer over 20 minutes. After ingestion was completed, samples were taken every 30, 45, 60, and 75 minutes. The method used was the modified Shefftell and UV-Vis Spectrophotometry. Results: Variability was found between genders and among age groups. The average elimination rate for females was 0.186 g/L/hour, while for males it was 0.159 g/L/hour. The 18-30 year age group reported an elimination rate of 0.169 g/L/hour, the 31-50 year age group reported 0.178 g/L/hour, and the over-50 age group had an elimination rate of 0.167 g/L/hour. Conclusions: There is variability in the rate of ethanol elimination in blood biological samples. The average ethyl alcohol elimination rate in the study population was 0.172 g/L. For women, it was 0.186 g/L, and for men, it was 0.159 g/L. The age group with the highest elimination rate was 31–50 years old.
